Compusitions is an instrumental album combining Electronic, Ethnic, Acoustic and Ambient styles. The album is designed for continuous listening as each piece flows into the next, creating a meditative effect as you listen to it. However the tunes can be played individually for a pleasant listening experience.
The overall mood of the tunes is very relaxing and melodic. Think of these pieces as soundtracks to scenes playing in your head when you are daydreaming or going to sleep. The CD was mixed and mastered with great care to both electronic textures and acoustic nuances. I had the pleasure of trying it with a $20,000 worth of hi-fi stereo system at a reseller of audiophile equipment and he decided instantly to use it as a demo CD for potential buyers.
Listeners commented that this CD is great for their Yoga sessions, that they have fallen asleep peacefully to it, and that it simply relaxed them at the end of a long day.

Incorporating various elements of ethnic rhythms, electronic landscapes, and more decidedly “New Age” elements, this CD is less about the art of the song and more about the kind of musical texture you hear as the twilight approaches and you’re just drifting off into a dream state. For those who love drifting into sonic landscapes and escaping into pools awash with sound, there is no greater treat than to unplug the phone, light a scented candle and slip into this record. Kobi’s use of organic and electronic textures may not be groundbreaking, but by no means does it make this CD any less breathtakingly beautiful, lush with sounds from all over this planet.

Musician Hayim Kobi created an ethereal new age work of art with his new album compusitions. Melding synthesizers, drum machines and electronic gadgetry with his love for ethnic music, Kobi delivers a refreshing collection of beautiful sounds. “Best experienced with headphones”, Kobi invented a world of musical soundscapes where one can escape from the routine din of the day. While some arrangements are more complex than others, Kobi intertwines them flawlessly making for a continuous album of color and depth.
Kobi is ably accompanied on six of the album’s 16 tracks by talented players, trumpeter Don Anderson, Classical guitarist Michel Gonzalez Rodriguez, acoustic bassist Tal Shalom-Kobi electric bassist Jonathan Shalom and guitarist Tim Casey. Collectively Kobi and friends deliver one of the finest local New Age albums in years.

HAYIM KOBI will be having a huge impact on The Jungle beginning with 6th March's edition of the "SALMAGUNDI" broadcast. The songs on Kobi's CD, COMPUSITIONS are some of the most unusually beautiful instrumental arrangements I have ever had the privilege of listening to. "Compusitions" gets a lot of play in my own CD player, and a copy of it should belong in the collection of everybody who appreciates artful instrumental soundscapes.
